Evisense — hero

Working with Full Clarity — who led UX and interface design on B Squared's EdTech modernisation (see their case study) — Aduro engineered Evisense for B Squared, the UK EdTech company behind assessment and engagement tools used by thousands of schools. Evisense is their secure communication hub: more than an evidence repository, it connects teachers, parents, pupils and external professionals through a single timeline — with the privacy controls safeguarding demands.

One hub, seven ways to communicate

Schools no longer need separate tools for evidence, newsletters, events, reading diaries and home updates. Evisense supports seven post types — evidence, learning opportunities, class blogs, newsletters, reading diaries, events and updates from home — each with its own colour language and visibility rules, but all visible in one familiar feed.

Teachers publish in two clicks. Parents receive notifications when their child is tagged. External professionals such as therapists can participate with scoped access. The result is active parental engagement built on trust — not ad hoc messages on consumer apps.

Capture, tag and tell the story

Evidence posts support photos, video, audio and documents — often several per post to show the journey, not just the outcome. Staff tag individual pupils or whole groups, set who can see and comment, and organise content with curriculum-linked tags filtered by each learner's profile.

Native mobile apps let teachers capture from the classroom floor — with offline-aware uploads, push notifications, and the same create-post flow as the web. Parents browse a home feed, gallery and notifications in parental mode; staff can switch into Parent Mode to preview exactly what a guardian sees for a chosen pupil.

Evidence linked to learning

Where schools use B Squared's assessment products, evidence can link to curriculum skills — with achievements recordable directly from a post and historical versus current levels available for progression narratives. Parents see linked skills only when schools choose to share them; the assessment depth itself lives in B Squared's wider platform.

Safeguarding by design

Privacy is not a single toggle. Default visibility varies by role and post type — from staff-only through to parents, students and external users — with per-post overrides, protected-student confirmations, comment isolation for parents, user blocking, and safeguarding-lead workflows for reported content.

Schools configure quiet hours, notification subscriptions by group and post type, and granular parent access tiers — from view-only to creating home and reading diary entries. Media handling strips sensitive metadata from uploads; download and print rights are gated by role.

Evisense gives B Squared's schools a communication hub that feels as natural as social media — but behaves like professional software: audited, configurable, and built for the sensitivity of pupil data.

Key Results

Schools need more than a photo album. Teachers capture moments that show progress; parents need a channel that feels familiar; safeguarding teams need confidence that the right people see the right content. Scattered messages and unsecured camera rolls do not scale.

Evisense brings evidence, home–school dialogue, events, reading diaries and newsletters into one timeline — with visibility rules that change by role, post type and pupil, not a single share-everything default.
