Infinity Renewables

Aduro partnered with Infinity Renewables to design and build SolarTools — the operations platform behind their nationwide solar and battery installation programme. Installing over 4,000 panels a month with in-house engineering teams working across partners like OVO Energy and regional organisations nationwide, Infinity needed more than a generic CRM. Aduro led the data and security architecture — making executive decisions on how jobs, scheduling, contractor workflows and quality audits should be structured before development began.
UK solar installations Operations platform Multi-region scheduling
One platform for the full install lifecycle
A residential solar install touches sales surveys, regional scheduling, roofer and electrician teams, grid connection paperwork, customer sign-off and post-install audits. Each step depends on the last — and at national volume, disconnected spreadsheets and tools do not scale.
Infinity's sales teams already relied on an existing onsite survey tool for home assessments — capturing customer details, roof configuration, product selections and installation complexity long before a job appeared on any operations calendar. The architectural question was how to connect that workflow to SolarTools without forcing surveyors to adopt a new tool or operations staff to re-key data from scratch.
From onsite survey to calendar slot
Aduro built an integration layer that synchronises survey progress into SolarTools step by step — customer and address, surveyor assignment, roof and product data, pricing and battery selections, then installation date and grid connection details. Partner and scheme routing happens at the point of entry, so a survey for a Solar Together scheme and a direct Infinity sale follow the correct commercial rules from the outset.
When a surveyor selects an installation date, the survey tool queries SolarTools for available slots — matched by postcode, regional organisation and how many consecutive days the install will require based on roof complexity and product mix. Completing the survey creates the job automatically, scored for difficulty from the survey data. Once the customer signs, their chosen date reserves slots on the regional calendar — scaffolding dates derived from partner SLAs, grid connection details carried through, and the job ready for contractor assignment without a manual handoff between sales and operations.
Operations visibility from day one
Operations staff need to see what requires action before they drill into individual jobs. The SolarTools dashboard surfaces blocked jobs, unassigned work, unsigned contracts, under-resourced partners and open support tickets — configurable so teams can focus on their own resources or take a company-wide view.
Each card links through to the underlying records, so the dashboard acts as a control tower rather than a static report. We made executive decisions about which operational signals mattered most at login — and how job state, partner capacity and audit status should roll up into actionable counts.

Scheduling built around how installs actually run
Installation scheduling is not a simple diary entry. Jobs may span multiple days, need consecutive slots, depend on geography and regional teams, and must respect partner agreements and capacity limits. Aduro designed a geo-aware scheduling model — matching jobs to organisations, available slots and contractor coverage by location — with the same slot logic powering both the operations calendar and the installation dates offered to surveyors in the field.
The calendar shows each job's progress through the install pipeline — booked, signed, scaffolding, DNO requested, completed — with assigned contractor teams visible on every card. Jobs that originate from a completed survey arrive with their visit length, skills requirements and customer address already resolved, so operations staff can focus on optimising the week rather than reconstructing what the surveyor captured on site. Partner channels can also create jobs and book slots through authenticated APIs, extending the same scheduling engine beyond the survey tool alone.

Business intelligence for operational leadership
As install volume grows, leadership needs aggregated visibility — not just today's task list. SolarTools includes a business intelligence layer with configurable dashboards tracking invoices, jobs, tasks, support tickets and completion trends over time.
Charts and KPI cards give operations and management teams a shared picture of throughput, bottlenecks and contractor performance — including top contractors by completion rate and top customers by job volume. The architecture separates live operational data from aggregated reporting, so dashboards stay responsive even as transaction volume scales.

Managing the contractor workforce
Infinity's install model depends on skilled roofer and electrician teams working across regions. SolarTools treats contractors as first-class entities — with profiles covering skills, availability, holidays, completion rates, assigned postcodes and job history.
Operations staff can review a contractor's active jobs, audit outcomes and holiday requests from a single profile, and switch between tabs for skills, invoices and comments without losing context. That data model decision — contractor-centric rather than job-centric administration — reflects how Infinity actually manages field capacity at scale.

Field reporting and compliant handovers
On site, contractors use the Infinity Renewables Diary mobile app to complete the work that matters: recording installation details, capturing photos, filling in monitoring credentials, collecting customer signatures and confirming electrician declarations.
Each screen maps to a stage in the compliance workflow — cable runs, inverter locations, variations from survey, and photographic evidence of the finished install. Completed handovers trigger PDF generation and update job status in the web CRM automatically. The mobile and web experiences share one data model, so back-office teams see field progress in real time.

The contractor diary in the field
Beyond individual job reporting, contractors need a daily view of their workload. The mobile diary shows weekly schedules with visit status, holiday management, and profile details — designed for technicians working across multiple installations in a single week.
Secure authentication, password policies and session management protect contractor accounts and the customer data they access on site. Push notifications alert teams when new visits are assigned, keeping field staff aligned with the schedules operations publish from the web calendar.

Security and accountability at national scale
A platform handling customer addresses, installation records, contractor credentials and partner integrations needs clear access control and a reliable audit trail. SolarTools uses role-based permissions for operations staff, granular audit rights for quality checks, and protected document delivery for sensitive files.
Every significant action — job changes, slot bookings, handovers, file access — is recorded asynchronously so teams can trace what happened and when. Partner integrations are gated by verified tokens, and the infrastructure runs on AWS with separate staging and production environments.
From the operations dashboard and scheduling calendar through to contractor profiles, business intelligence, the mobile diary and quality audit workflows, SolarTools is the digital backbone for Infinity Renewables' install programme — with security and traceability woven through the architecture.
Key Results
Infinity Renewables is one of the UK's largest in-house solar installers — running thousands of residential installations every month across partners, regions and contractor teams.
Aduro led the data and security architecture for SolarTools: how jobs, slots, partners, audits and field reporting should be structured so operations staff and contractors could work from one platform — with traceability built in from the start.
